American power supplies (step down)

Before selecting power supplies for American products imported into Australia, the following questions need to be answered:

  • What is the total power used by every device that is to be connected to the power supply?
  • Does any device incorporate a motor?
  • Does any device incorporate a mechanical timing device? If so, how critical is this timing device?

These questions must be considered before selecting the correct step down isolation transformer for your needs.

The Torema step down transformer has the following advantages:

  • The exclusive use of the T3 technology in the design and manufacture of the toroidal transformer that is at the heart of the power supply
  • Torema's innovative intelligent fault recognition (IFR) system for total protection of your power supply. Not only does our IFR system let the user know of a problem, but it also protects the power supply from damage
  • Torema's intelligent inrush protection system will eliminate the cause of unexpected interruptions to the supply of power to equipment
  • Output Selector switch to enable you to select the correct voltage depending on your application

Lighting isolation transformers

Toroidal isolation transformers are the most efficient and reliable means of supplying power to downlights.  Electronic transformers have become a common source of power to 12V halogen lights, however as with all electronic components they have a low tolerance to medium to high ambient heat. Generally, electronic components start to fail at a temperature above 70 degrees celcius.  Torema's T3 transformers provide the solution to this common problem, as they operate at temperatures of up to 130 degrees celcius.

Torema's lighting transformers provide the ideal solution for downlights. They combine the reliability of the conventional wire wound transformer with the efficiency of the T3 advantage in design and manufacturing.

Dimming Lighting T3 Isolation Transformers

Torema Australia has carried out extensive testing on a wide range of dimmers, to ensure their compatibility with the lighting transformer. If you plan on using a dimmer other than one tested by Torema, and are unsure about its compatibility with a Lighting transformer, please contact us. We are happy to arrange a comprehensive test to be carried out on the dimmer's suitability.

E&I Isolation Transformers

E&I isolation transformers are predominantly used in the switch board industry. However, with their wide range of power ratings and voltages,  E&I transformers are also able to be used in a variety of other applications.

For custom design requirements or custom mounting options please contact one of our experienced staff members.
